Your own SAP permissions, no backdoor
The MCP adds no permission layer of its own. Whatever a user may do in SAP Business One they may do here — anything else is rejected by SAP.
Self-hosted & auditable
You run the server yourself. Sign-in and data stay in your environment; the licence is verified by signature. Alternatively, get the MCP fully hosted via Cloudiax.
What is included in which package?
All editions run self-hosted and respect the signed-in user's SAP permissions 1:1. The edition controls which tools are enabled; SAP still decides what the user may actually do.

What the tools actually do
sap_query_odata — read data (OData v4)
Reads business data via the SAP Service Layer: filter, sort, aggregate (e.g. "the last 10 orders", "revenue per customer"). Read-only operation.
sap_fuzzy_search — fuzzy search
Finds master data even with typos/partial matches (e.g. "Mueller" finds "Müller"). Helpful when the exact code/name is unknown.
sap_curated_query — vetted reports
Runs vetted AI_* queries stored in SAP beforehand — for recurring, complex evaluations with fixed, approved logic.
sap_create / sap_update — write (PRO and up)
Creates or updates documents/master data (e.g. create a business partner, update an order) — strictly within the user's SAP permissions.
sap_delete — delete (ENTERPRISE only)
Removes objects where SAP allows it (many documents cannot be deleted in SAP, only cancelled — see sap_action).
sap_action — Document actions (ENTERPRISE only)
Triggers Service Layer actions on documents beyond simple create/update — such as cancelling, closing or copy-to. These are the most powerful, state-changing operations; hence ENTERPRISE only.
Note: write tools only take effect if the server runs in READ_WRITE mode and the signed-in SAP user holds the permission — the MCP adds no permission layer of its own.
